What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. What we collect
When you book: your name, your email or phone number, your stay dates and any request you add for the property. If you create an account: your name, contact details, password (stored hashed, never in readable form) and language preference. Automatically: basic technical information such as which pages you viewed, used to keep the service working and to understand what people search for.
2. Why we use it
To create and manage your booking, to let the property identify you on arrival, to send you booking updates, and to let you look your booking up afterwards. We send marketing messages only if you have asked for them, and you can turn them off at any time in your notification preferences.
3. Who we share it with
The property you book with receives the details it needs to host you: your name, contact details, dates and any request you made. It cannot see your other bookings. We use service providers for hosting, storage and email delivery, who process data on our instructions only. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Where it is stored
Your data is stored on servers operated by our infrastructure providers, which may be located outside Cameroon. Where that is the case, we use providers that apply recognised security standards. Connections to DiviStay are encrypted, and passwords are stored hashed so that nobody — including us — can read them.
5. How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as needed to run the service and to meet accounting and legal obligations. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and stop using your data for anything other than records we are required to keep.
6. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to us using the details on the contact page and we will respond.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and theme, and remember bookings you made on this device so you do not have to type a reference. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
